The Bachelorette host Kaitlyn Bristowe’s journey has come to an end.
On her podcast Off The Vine, the 36-year-old actress confirmed that she would not be returning to host Season 19 of the ABC dating show. Jesse Palmer, the host of The Bachelor, announced on After The Final Rose last week that he would return to help leads Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia find love.
On March 22, Kaitlyn explained, “I saw at the end of the finale, Jesse was announcing the two Bachelorettes, and he said he was going to be by their side for that.” “So, spoiler alert, I’m not coming back,” she says.
While Kaitlyn admits that not retuning gives her FOMO, she recognizes that she’s had a “crazy year” and could use some downtime to focus on other things, such as her upcoming wedding to Jason Tartick.
‘I desperately want to help Gabby and Rachel and be there for them,’ she said. “I believe it is appropriate for a woman to be present for them. But I also want to spend more time at home with Jason, plan my wedding, and catch up on my businesses.”
The founder of Spade and Sparrows Wine even called the reorganization a “blessing in disguise.”
“There are a lot of exciting things coming up in the next few months,” she explained, “and it all feels very overwhelming.” “But I guess it’s like the saying goes, ‘You can have it all, but not all at once.'” However, I will be disappointed. I’d like to be there to help them, but that’s the news.”
After longtime host Chris Harrison “stepped down” in February 2021 after facing criticism for defending a contestant on The Bachelor accused of racism, Kaitlyn took over hosting duties for seasons 17 and 18 of The Bachelorette, sharing the job with fellow former Bachelorette Tayshia Adams.
“I think Jesse is amazing,” she says now, expressing her support for Jesse taking the reins. I’m sure he’ll be a fantastic host, and I hope he can assist Gabby and Rachael in any way he can.”
Kaitlyn made her Bachelor Nation debut in 2015, when she competed for Chris Soules’ affections on season 19 of The Bachelor. The following year, she took over as the lead on season 11 of The Bachelorette and got engaged to Shawn Booth. Despite the fact that their relationship ended three years later, Kaitlyn went on to win the Mirrorball Trophy on season 29 of Dancing with the Stars with partner Artem Chigvintsev.
